Installation steps

  1. 1 Download the zip file above and unzip it to a permanent folder.
  2. 2 Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions.
  3. 3 Enable Developer Mode using the toggle in the top-right corner.
  4. 4 Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  5. 5 Allow microphone access — TraceGist uses it for voice markers. To enable it, go to chrome://extensions, open TraceGist's details, and turn on Site access or grant microphone permission there.
  6. 6 Pin the TraceGist icon to your toolbar for quick access.

Keyboard shortcuts

Alt/Option + Shift + R Start / stop recording
Alt/Option + Shift + M Drop a voice marker
Alt/Option + Shift + S Toggle highlight capture mode (only active within a voice marker)

Global shortcuts — work in any tab while the extension is active.
